Co-op psychological horror game

Content Warning is an adventure experience released by Landfall Publishing. This is a cooperative horror experience for two to four players, each being a member of a group of friends who want to be famous, or die trying. The task is to film as many scary things as possible and return to base to upload footages.

In terms of story, Content Warning plays to the modern fascination of getting online famous, such as vloggers visiting abandoned sites. More importantly, it feels like Lethal Company with its potential for fun team-based gameplay, its wonky physics, and its virtually unlimited replayability value.

Be the next SpookTube sensation

As a coop game, Content Warning starts by customizing your character with ASCII-based face designs, the precursor to modern emojis. Once everyone is ready, you go down into the Old World, a supernatural dimension where artifacts, relics, and creatures reside. The task is to capture as many of them as possible on your camcorder. You need to survive the monsters as well as conserve your battery and oxygen supply.

If you somehow manage to get back on the surface, you upload your videos and wait for the streaming revenue to come in. You use the money to upgrade, stock up on supplies, and venture again into the Old World. Aside from the unique ASCII faces, the game physics also warrants attention. Both the characters and the creatures move in weird ways, making the game less scary and more enjoyable

Gameplay-wise, it’s essentially Lethal Company but with wannabe influencers. The progression is similar but differences in content and design are enough to make you check this out. However, it still suffers from minor bugs. Players have reported various issues with the game, from assets not loading or responding properly to instances where different game mechanics such as the video upload action, do not work as they should.

Venture dauntlessly into the Old World

To rake in an outlandish amount of streams and get insane revenue in Content Warning, players and their friends should capture almost every monster and death, all while conserving oxygen and film. Upgrading Equipment and taking advantage of Emotes are great tactics, as well. There are various Equipment categories: Lights, Medical, Gadgets, and Miscellaneous, all of which are handy in the field and should be upgraded accordingly.

Meanwhile, Emotes allow players to communicate non-verbally and express their personalities. There’s a diverse selection of these, ranging from Applause to various kinds of Dances, but a team member can only use one Emote per dive into the Old World. Should they die while filming, they will have to learn how to use the Emote all over again. On the other hand, players can also extend the fun to a bigger group of friends by using the Content Warning - QoL w Bigger Lobbies by x753 mod.

A fun Lethal Company alternative

In conclusion, Content Warning offers a thrilling and innovative gaming experience, blending cooperative gameplay with elements of adventure and survival. With its unique ASCII-based character customization and supernatural setting, players are immersed in a world filled with artifacts, relics, and creatures to capture on their camcorders. Despite minor bugs, the game's quirky physics and engaging progression keep players hooked, offering a fresh take on the genre.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.
